White Horse Luncheonette

Awesome little place. We were camping at Spring Gulch, and wanted a simple, tasty bite to eat for dinner without going too far. Sat at the counter and had a tasty burger, and a chicken Caesar wrap. They also have slices of pie and loaves of sourdough ready to go!

Authentic Small Cafe that gets packed out at times. Very friendly, and welcoming staff. The food is incredible!!! They have the best mashed potatoes this side of the Mississippi River.

Stopped in today with a coworker. And we were amazed at how great the food was and the service was top notch. The Rueben was spectacular and my coworker had an amazing California cheeseburger. This place is definitely going to be one of my go to eatery's when I am in the area. Thanks for a great lunch.

This place is one of the most historic community based restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s clear talking to the patrons, that it is the one go to place for lunch, breakfast and dinner in the community. Located on rural Route 340, it caters to locals and passers by in equal numbers. Stopping in during lunch, I tried their cheesesteak which was excellent, and although I ordered the sauce on the side, it really made a difference. My meal included a classic corn chowder bowl, which was spot on and delicious. I also ordered the loaded fries and was pleased by the size of the serving. The onion rings were crumb-breaded rather than batter fried, which I prefer, but were tasty all the same. If you were traveling route 340 on your way to Lancaster or intercourse, I would highly recommend making a stop here along the way you’ll truly enjoy the experience.

Clean restaurant very quaint. My order was messed up when received; but, they tried to fix it right away. I ordered fried shrimp, mashed potatoes with gravy and a side salad. I got fried shrimp but they had yum yum sauce all over them, not what I ordered. They took my plate away and brought me back new shrimp, which were not drained properly after coming out of the fryer so the were swimming in oil. They gave me back the same mashed potatoes and gravy so they were cold. Needless to say I did not eat any of it. The salad was good. The broccoli cheese bites were also good. My husband said his burger was good. The staff were friendly.

Nice local breakfast and lunch diner. We stopped for breakfast. Enjoyed an omelette and egg and potato entree. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly. Food was prepared to order and quickly. Would definitely stop again.

Best steak in Lancaster County! Grilled on outdoor smoker grill. Seasoning perfectly! Sadly steak night is only once per month, second friday. Go early or be prepared to wait and they do sell out! Portions are huge! Wife and I got the rib eye. Probably 20+ ounces.

1st visit… Was recently told White Horse had great cheesesteaks. How true! Excellent flavor, perfect amount of steak and cheese, good onions and unique sauce. Slightly messy (always a plus). French fries were crispy. Very friendly staff!
